ABM Occupational Therapy Services

Occupational Therapists work as part of the Learning Disability Community Support Team
with individuals, their families and carers to promote independence and occupation in its
broadest sense.

The Occupational Therapist will address physical, psychological and social issues using a variety of methods, for example:

  • Using specialist assessments for sensory,movement and thinking skills
  • Teaching skills to live more independently
  • Advising on work, occupation and leisure opportunities
  • Advising on how to adapt the environment to enable maximum involvement in activities
