Action for Children - Vale Short Breaks
This is a residential short breaks service for the most vulnerable disabled children and young people in the Vale of Glamorgan, their age ranging from 7 to 17 years. The project has been developed in partnership between Action for Children and the Vale of Glamorgan Council Children and Young People’s Services.
The service is provided from new purpose-built premises in Robins Lane in Barry. The service accommodates a maximum of four children at any one time. Lengths of stay can be flexible. Stays are booked in advance through the child’s respite care plan, which is reviewed on a six monthly basis. Families can access this service via the Child Health and Disability Team at Haydock House in Barry.
