Autism Spectrum Connections Cymru (ASCC) One Stop Shop
An Autism One Stop Shop (OSS) is a safe place for adults with an autism spectrum condition to access a wide range of advice and support. It is also a place where they can take part in various social activities.
What We Do:
We offer free advice and support for autistic adults aged 16 and over. Our services focus on three main areas: Employment, Benefits, and Social Groups. Most support is available at our 21 High Street centre in Cardiff, but we also provide remote support via MS teams and telephone appointments.
We can support individuals who live in the following local authority areas: Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen, and The Vale of Glamorgan.
Employment - Into Work:
We can help you find a job, whether paid or voluntary. Our support is tailored to your needs and can include:
- Job searching
- CV design
- Application advice
- Interview support
We also offer courses to help you get 'employment ready'. Choose from a 5- or 10-week course, depending on your requirements.
Employment - In Work:
We can support you with matters relating to your current employment. We can offer a limited number of goal-oriented sessions, including support around:
- Reasonable Adjustments
- Liaising with your employer
- Advocating on your behalf
- Creating a ‘Needs and Recommendations Report’
Benefits:
We offer advice, advocacy, and support (including form-filling) for accessing and maintaining benefits, including:
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
- Universal Credit (Including JSA and ESA)
- Disabled Student Allowance / Welsh Government Learning Grant
- Concessionary Bus Pass/Rail Cards
- Food Bank Vouchers
Social Groups:
Join our activity groups to socialise and enjoy activities in a safe, supportive space. You do not need to book to attend – just complete a referral form the first time you come. All groups are held at our 21 High Street base.
