Ty Storrie - Children's Short Break House

The Cardiff Short Breaks Service at Rhydypenau Road has now moved to a brand new short break facility, Tŷ Storrie, next to the new Ty Gwyn Special school in the West of Cardiff.

Tŷ Storrie short break centre is purpose built to better accommodate the wide range of
disabilities and needs of users and their families who use the specialist facility. The two-storey modern facility offers a homely environment for residents and includes:

• 8 en-suite bedrooms able to cater for a variety of disabilities and needs
• 2 comfortable lounge areas for residents and their families to relax
• A sensory room and garden with different colours, textures, sounds and smells to inspire and stimulate the senses
• Play room with wet play area
• Dining Room
• Medical room
• Staff offices

The centre works closely with the Tŷ Gwyn Special School to make sure residents benefit
from the hydrotherapy and treatment facilities at the school.
