Wavelength - The TV and Radio Charity

WaveLength supports the UK’s most vulnerable and isolated people to overcome the loneliness they experience due to ill health, disability or other unfortunate circumstances. These issues leave many people unable to leave their homes, connect with their families or build new friendships. This extreme loneliness can have devastating effects on their emotional and physical wellbeing. To tackle this WaveLength provides everyday technology that helps people connect to the wider world, such as tablet computers, televisions and radios. This technology offers comfort and companionship to those in need - giving people a vital link to the outside world, reducing loneliness and helping them connect to others and rebuild their lives.

Applications for technology must be made using the application form available on the charity’s website, and must be made by a referee on behalf of the individual in need. The referee can be a friend, neighbour or support worker, but not a family member. WaveLength also works with care organisations across the UK to identify and reach those in need of support.
